Events Specialist (Retail)

Location: Wilmette, Illinois, United States; physical in-store retail role. Requires frequent standing and walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, flexible availability for nights, weekends, and holidays, and up to 50% travel within a 50-mile radius with reliable transportation.

Salary: $20.00 per hour. The starting rate is fixed and non-negotiable for new hires.

What you will do

• Coordinate and execute in-store and local community events, supplier demonstrations, workshops, and seasonal activities.
• Manage event logistics including scheduling, setup, breakdown, vendors, equipment, signage, supplies, and promotional materials.
• Create welcoming customer experiences and represent the hirify.global brand during events and community activities.
• Build relationships with local businesses, nonprofit organizations, schools, designers, suppliers, and community groups.
• Capture photos and videos for social media and support marketing promotions, campaigns, and community outreach.
• Assist with merchandising, customer service, store operations, and other tasks between scheduled events.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in event execution, hospitality, community engagement, or customer-facing roles.
• Strong organization and event logistics coordination skills.
• Creative problem-solving, attention to detail, and confidence engaging customers, partners, and senior leaders.
• English communication skills required, including the ability to read and understand English.
• Experience directing small teams or vendors and ability to collaborate with Store Leadership, Marketing, People Operations, Visual Merchandising, and Operations.
• Flexible availability for nights, weekends, and holidays; willingness to travel up to 50% within a 50-mile radius.
