Senior Designer (Interior Design/Retail)

Location: Joss & Main, Oakbrook Center, Oak Brook, Illinois, United States; in-store retail role with travel for in-home consultations

Salary: $25.00–$26.50 per hour; compensation listed for 40 hours per week

What you will do

• Deliver friendly, consultative customer experiences and help customers make home-furnishing purchases.
• Manage virtual, in-store, and in-home design appointments, including preparation of design deliverables, product curation, and follow-up.
• Use design tools to create moodboards, space plans, and 2D/3D room views.
• Coach Design Sales Advisors and support training across product knowledge, selling, customer service, operations, and visual presentation.
• Support store opening and closing, product replenishment, floor sets, substitutions, and other operational activities.
• Meet or exceed sales, customer satisfaction, profitability, and other KPI targets.

Requirements

• Ability to work on-site in Oak Brook, Illinois and travel for in-home consultations.
• 3+ years of sales experience; interior design, furniture, or home goods experience is preferred.
• Experience motivating a team to achieve sales goals, preferably in a store leadership or training role.
• Knowledge of spatial planning, fabric selection, interior design styles, and trends.
• Strong organization, communication, self-motivation, relationship management, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays; ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office applications.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent college diploma.
• State-issued driver’s license and required auto liability insurance or proof of financial responsibility for personal-vehicle travel.
