Staff Engineer, Electromechanical Battery Design

Location: Seattle, Washington; on-site

Salary: $187,000–$281,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular full-time employees.

What you will do

• Own the design of a new battery pack from concept through production.
• Optimize performance while balancing size, weight, manufacturing, and reliability requirements.
• Prototype, test, qualify, and transition battery designs into production.
• Define requirements, specifications, assembly drawings, and 2D drawings.
• Investigate root causes of design failures and production problems.
• Lead cross-functional architecture execution, design reviews, mentorship, and program delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics, thermal design, and electronics.
• Previous experience designing and delivering a battery product to market.
• Proficiency in CAD modeling.
• Experience with multiple manufacturing processes.
