Senior Medical Director, Clinical Development, Oncology (Remote)

Location: Remote for US-based candidates only; employer location listed as Palo Alto, California.

Base salary: $308,000–$462,000 per year for US-based candidates. Additional discretionary bonus, incentive compensation, and equity may apply.

What you will do

• Provide strategic medical oversight for solid tumor oncology programs from early development through registration and post-approval.
• Lead clinical trial design, endpoint selection, biomarker strategy, translational integration, and medical monitoring.
• Develop and execute integrated clinical development plans aligned with unmet medical needs and the competitive landscape.
• Collaborate with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Biostatistics, Clinical Operations, Translational Medicine, and Medical Affairs.
• Contribute to regulatory interactions, filings, scientific publications, congress presentations, and external expert engagement.
• Mentor medical directors and physicians while influencing cross-functional teams through scientific leadership.

Requirements

• MD or MD/PhD required, with board certification in Oncology, Hematology-Oncology, or a related specialty.
• Advanced clinical training and experience in solid tumor oncology.
• 10+ years of clinical and/or pharmaceutical industry experience in oncology, with significant solid tumor focus.
• Demonstrated leadership in global clinical development and late-phase programs.
• Experience with regulatory interactions and contributions to successful filings.
• Must be a US-based candidate; the role is remote.

Nice to have

• Thoracic oncology experience, including leadership of registrational or practice-changing studies.
• Experience with biomarker-driven development and precision oncology approaches.
• Experience operating in fast-paced, evolving pipeline environments.
