Attorney Development Manager - Regulatory & Advisory

Location: Boston, United States; periodic travel is expected.

Salary: $165,000–$185,000 annually in Boston; the range is $170,000–$190,000 in New York.

What you will do

• Manage attorney development, performance, engagement, onboarding, and integration for an assigned cohort.
• Provide career coaching, gather stakeholder feedback, support evaluations, and guide self-assessment and goal-setting processes.
• Coordinate resource allocation, staffing decisions, learning opportunities, and client secondments.
• Use workforce data and performance metrics to support hiring forecasts, succession planning, role definitions, and talent decisions.
• Design and deliver targeted training, individual learning plans, and initiatives supporting career paths and professional growth.
• Partner with Talent, Practice Management, Recruiting, Employee Relations, and firm leadership to improve engagement, inclusion, policies, and talent programs.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree strongly preferred, with a foundation in legal principles and practices.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a large law firm or comparable professional services environment.
• Experience in legal staffing, workforce planning, or attorney development is highly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, coaching, mentoring, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information, manage multiple high-priority projects, and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Comfort with data, technology platforms, and AI tools for workflow modernization and talent insights.
