Environmental Control Analyst I (Pharmaceutical Quality)

Location: On-premise in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, United States. Rotating day shift on a 2-2-3 schedule, with work on public holidays, overtime, and off-shift hours as required.

Salary: $21.02–$35.04 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday, and other pay premiums.

What you will do

• Collect routine physical and microbiological environmental samples from air, surfaces, and water systems in laboratory and manufacturing areas.
• Perform environmental monitoring assays and process samples according to SOPs and aseptic techniques.
• Analyze samples qualitatively and quantitatively, interpret results, and maintain complete records in laboratory information systems or electronic record systems.
• Identify and communicate atypical results, out-of-specification results, instrument malfunctions, methodology issues, safety concerns, and incidents.
• Handle chemicals, biological agents, and waste safely while maintaining laboratory housekeeping and compliance.
• Support continuous improvement projects, training, documentation, and cross-functional laboratory activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years of relevant experience; or an associate's degree with 2 years of experience; or a bachelor's degree, preferably in chemistry or a related science, with up to 2 years of experience.
• Knowledge of basic microbiology, aseptic practices, and/or environmental monitoring principles.
• Ability to work standing for extended periods, walk, lift, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States by any employer and hold permanent U.S. work authorization.
• U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Training in laboratory testing methods and computerized record keeping.
• Cleanroom gowning and environmental sampling experience.
