Mechanical Engineer IV (Dimensional Engineering)

Location: Remote within the United States; role associated with Kirkland, Washington.

What you will do

• Develop geometry control solutions, 3D dimensional analyses, and datum coordination for functional and manufacturing build strategies.
• Lead tolerance analysis and GD&T development with design teams, including best-practice development.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, optical, materials, firmware, software, and computer vision specialists on concepts and detailed designs.
• Apply variation simulation modeling to solve complex design and manufacturing problems.
• Support measurement plan execution, gage R&R studies, MSOPs, suppliers, and metrology teams.
• Help transition iterative prototypes into high-volume consumer products for virtual and augmented reality applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of industry or academic experience, including dimensional engineering experience.
• Experience with 3D variation simulation using Siemens VA/VisVSA, 3DCS, or CETOL.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as machining, 3D printing, and injection molding.
• Experience with GD&T under ASME Y14.5, tolerance analysis, metrology, and product development from concept through production.
• Must be based in the United States for this remote role.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-volume consumer technology, automotive, aerospace, consumer appliances, or medical devices.
• 3D CAD modeling experience, preferably with NX.
• Experience creating scripts or algorithms for measurement data analysis and assembly simulation.
• Knowledge of MSA, gage R&R, PPAP, and statistical tools such as Minitab, Quantum XL, or JMP.
• VisVSA experience is preferred.
