Materials & Process Engineer (Densification)

Location: Torrance, California, United States; hands-on pilot-line and manufacturing work with weekend work when necessary.

What you will do

• Support composite layup, forming, and densification operations for ceramic matrix composite components.
• Execute compression molding, curing, resin infiltration, and high-temperature pyrolysis processes.
• Collect, analyze, and manage process quality-assurance data and databases.
• Characterize finished carbon/silicon-carbide materials to assess performance and guide process development.
• Optimize fabrication and densification parameters to improve material quality and process repeatability.
• Maintain process documentation and support pilot-line hardware installation, maintenance, and scale-up.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in materials science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with composite processing and/or materials characterization techniques.
• Ability to work independently in a hands-on engineering environment.
• Willingness to work weekends when necessary.
• Access to export-controlled information may require compliance with U.S. Government authorization, citizenship, or other eligibility requirements.
• Employment may require the ability to obtain and maintain a required U.S. Government security clearance or authorization if applicable.
