AI Science Writer

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; remote within Europe. The role must be based in the EU.

What you will do

• Produce scientific and technical reviews of AI models, architectures, papers, in-house research, and emerging trends.
• Turn complex model architectures and technical ideas into written and visual narratives using infographics, diagrams, charts, and multimedia components.
• Write and edit analytical reports, features, interviews, explainers, newsletters, webinar scripts, and social content.
• Interview researchers, engineers, founders, and scientific leaders, and cover major research conferences and debates across the AI ecosystem.
• Host or moderate research webinars, interviews, and other on-camera formats.
• Verify technical claims with researchers and collaborate with designers and multimedia producers on complex visual stories.

Requirements

• Professional or academic experience in AI/ML research, machine learning engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Degree in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, physics, engineering, computational science, or another relevant technical discipline.
• Ability to read research papers, inspect model architectures, compare results, assess limitations, and discuss technical details with researchers.
• Strong visual instincts and ability to explain technical mechanisms through diagrams, infographics, charts, or other multimedia formats.
• Precise and engaging writing skills, with the ability to use LLMs as a supporting tool rather than a replacement for writing.
• Must be based in the EU.
