Traveling Automotive Technician, Autonomous Vehicles

Location: Phoenix, Arizona; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Miami, Florida. The role requires deployment to assigned depots within 24–72 hours, travel for 1–4 week assignments, and travel of up to 75% of working time. Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Deploy to depots on short notice to stabilize underperforming markets, clear collision and preventive-maintenance backlogs, and support new-market launches.
• Perform advanced removal and replacement of onboard compute units, Lidar, Radar, camera systems, and integrated sensing hardware.
• Complete authorized OEM warranty repairs on suspension, power conversion, high-voltage distribution, and other critical vehicle systems.
• Switch between preventive maintenance and complex diagnostic escalation without significant ramp-up time.
• Coach local technicians on diagnostic methods, safety discipline, standardized procedures, and best practices.
• Follow site-specific safety orientation, LOTO, MSD, IMD, HVIL, and PPE requirements.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in automotive or aerospace maintenance focused on complex electronic systems.
• Experience performing authorized OEM warranty repairs on critical vehicle systems and advanced electrical components.
• Ability to travel on short notice, including weeknight stays away from home base, and work receiving-market shift hours during assignments.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving history, and legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to stand and walk for a full shift, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in bay environments with strict PPE and LOTO compliance.

Nice to have

• Multi-site or mobile technician experience in collision repair, OEM field service, or fleet rapid-response operations.
• Experience mentoring or training junior technicians.
• OEM platform certification, high-voltage systems experience, CAN and LIN diagnostics, or ASE certification such as A6, A7, A8, or L3.
