Chief Information Security Officer (Fintech)

Location: Based in Utah, or requires frequent business travel to Utah if based elsewhere in the U.S.; most teams meet in the office 2–3 days per week.

What you will do

• Own the bank’s information security and cybersecurity program, including governance, strategy, policies, standards, risk assessments, controls, and security requirements for technology changes.
• Lead identity and access security, cloud, infrastructure and application security, data protection, vulnerability management, monitoring, detection, and response.
• Manage incident response, cyber resilience, third-party and intra-group technology risk, security testing, assurance, awareness, and training.
• Represent the bank in regulatory examinations, supervisory reviews, information requests, and security-related discussions with U.S. banking regulators.
• Turn regulatory observations into sustainable control improvements and maintain continuous examination readiness.
• Advise the CRO, CEO, Board, and Group CISO on cyber risk while coordinating security capabilities across the bank and the wider organization.

Requirements

• Experience leading or materially owning an information security program within U.S. banking or another regulated financial institution.
• Direct experience working with U.S. banking regulators and regulatory examination teams.
• Experience presenting cybersecurity risk to Boards, executive management, and regulators.
• Strong understanding of modern cloud infrastructure, software engineering, and technology platforms.
• Experience establishing accountability where technology or control capabilities are provided by a parent company, affiliate, or shared service.
• Ability to work from Utah or travel frequently to Utah when based elsewhere in the U.S.; regular office collaboration is expected.

Nice to have

• Background in a de novo bank, industrial bank, fintech, or bank charter process.
