Consultant, Data Governance (Financial Services)

Location: Toronto, Canada. Work arrangement, including the proportion of on-site and remote work, will be discussed during the interview. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and hold a valid work or study permit where applicable.

What you will do

• Support the evolution and execution of Personal & Business Banking data governance capabilities.
• Implement data governance and data management practices aligned with enterprise policies and standards.
• Manage metadata, data quality, data sharing, reporting, and performance metrics.
• Drive data and reporting projects aligned with business strategy and key performance indicators.
• Engage stakeholders and forums across the bank to support collaboration, oversight, and decision-making.
• Identify process and technology improvements while proactively mitigating regulatory risk and supporting audits.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience implementing or executing data governance, preferably in a financial institution and regulatory environment.
• Experience with programming, big data, analytics, and dashboard tools such as SAS, SQL, Python, R, Hadoop, Spark, Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, or Cognos.
• Experience extracting and cleaning large datasets, building predictive machine learning algorithms, and communicating technical findings.
• Knowledge of data management and reporting tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or Purview.
• Knowledge of retail banking, marketing, and contact center or phone-channel operations.
• Experience with risk mitigation, audits, regulatory examinations, and Agile delivery.
