Distinguished Data Scientist (AI/ML)

Location: Bellevue, Washington, United States

Annual salary: $156,000–$312,000, plus performance-based bonuses and potential stock compensation.

What you will do

• Define AI/ML strategy across Global Governance and lead production-scale solutions for risk intelligence, investigations, anomaly detection, computer vision, graph analytics, optimization, and agentic AI.
• Architect reusable AI platforms, patterns, and standards for enterprise governance applications.
• Develop evaluation, Responsible AI, explainability, observability, model validation, and MLOps practices.
• Partner with Business, Product, Engineering, and Data Science from problem framing through deployment and measurable outcomes.
• Mentor senior scientists and engineers while influencing build-versus-buy and long-term technology decisions.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in machine learning, applied statistics, optimization, and production AI systems.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI and agentic architectures, including RAG, tool use, orchestration, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Experience with large-scale data and ML platforms and strong engineering judgment.
• At least 8 years of experience in analytics or a related field; alternatively, 6 years with a relevant bachelor’s degree or 4 years with a relevant master’s degree.
• Experience influencing senior technical and business leaders, mentoring senior talent, and establishing reusable technical standards or platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with NLP, computer vision, graph machine learning, anomaly detection, causal inference, forecasting, or optimization.
• Experience with Python, Spark, Scala, R, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or Torch.
• PhD, relevant publications, or active peer-review experience.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
