Senior Manager, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) & Sustainability

Location: Zaventem, Belgium; approximately 30% travel across the first year

Salary: €105,000–€130,000 gross per year

What you will do

• Lead EHS governance, compliance, and sustainability initiatives across international operations outside the United States.
• Strengthen safety culture through engagement, training, and continuous improvement programmes.
• Conduct compliance assessments and support sites with local regulatory requirements.
• Lead incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action programmes.
• Support sustainability reporting, ESG initiatives, product stewardship, and environmental compliance.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, HR, Facilities, Commercial, Regulatory teams, and external consultants while reporting key metrics to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Significant experience in Environmental Health & Safety leadership roles across multiple countries and regulatory environments.
• Strong knowledge of EHS compliance, risk management, and safety culture programmes.
• Experience with sustainability, ESG, or environmental reporting initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, analytical, and project management skills.
• Experience presenting data and recommendations to senior leaders.
• Fluent English required.

Nice to have

• Experience in medical devices, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, or another regulated industry.
• NEBOSH, IOSH, IEMA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Knowledge of European sustainability and ESG regulations, including CSRD, EPR, and REACH.
• Previous people leadership experience.
