Mid Level User Researcher

Location: Remote or hybrid in the United Kingdom; hybrid attendance of 50% in studios is expected, with occasional project travel. Candidates must have a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.

Salary: £39,000–£45,000 annually, depending on skills and location.

What you will do

• Plan, facilitate, and lead user research activities across complex projects.
• Conduct inclusive and accessible research with diverse and seldom-heard user groups.
• Analyse and synthesise qualitative findings and turn insights into actionable recommendations.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams including service designers, content and interaction designers, and developers.
• Champion user-centred design and help clients adopt UCD approaches and GDS Service Standards.
• Contribute to research practice development, research operations, proposals, and client pitches.

Requirements

• Significant experience delivering user research projects and working autonomously.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and facilitating research activities.
• Skills in qualitative analysis, synthesis, written communication, and translating insights into recommendations.
• Experience with public-sector projects and GDS Service Standards.
• Experience or interest in service design, research operations, and AI practices.
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance and pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK are required.
