Principal AI / ML Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Architect, build, and deploy enterprise machine learning models, deep learning pipelines, RAG systems, and LLM agent frameworks on AWS and Azure.
• Advise C-suite leaders, Chief AI Officers, and engineering leads on technical blueprints, evaluation frameworks, and delivery roadmaps.
• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams of AI engineers, data scientists, and data engineers.
• Translate complex business challenges into production-ready AI and Generative AI systems while managing stakeholder alignment.
• Design zero-trust AI security, prompt-injection defenses, PII masking, and automated CI/CD pipelines aligned with regulatory and data-sovereignty requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mathematics, theoretical physics, physics, computer science, or a related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, and AI platform development, including team leadership in technology or management consultancies.
• Advanced knowledge of PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain or LlamaIndex, vector databases, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS SageMaker, and Azure OpenAI.
• Experience taking AI/ML systems from experimental notebooks into secure, high-concurrency production cloud environments.
• Strong client communication, stakeholder management, empathy, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with LoRA, QLoRA, quantization, and serving open-weight LLMs using vLLM, Ollama, or TGI.
• Experience designing concurrent multi-cloud AI architectures in regulated environments.
• Background in financial services, banking, capital markets, or UAE and GCC regulatory frameworks.
