Medical Director - Diabetes & Renal

Location: Home office based in Princeton, New Jersey; candidates must live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate. Requires 20–30% overnight travel.

Base compensation: $250,000–$315,000 per year, plus eligibility for company bonus and long-term incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Serve as a medical subject matter expert for diabetes and renal products and related clinical data.
• Develop therapeutic area medical and evidence generation plans with the Medical Director Lead.
• Support clinical trial planning and execution, including investigator identification, training, and review of investigator-sponsored studies.
• Lead or support national advisory boards, KOL engagement, medical education programs, and scientific presentations.
• Review publications, medical information, promotional materials, labeling, HEOR projects, and regulatory content.
• Provide medical guidance and training to Field Medical Affairs, Sales, Market Access, Marketing, and other internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• MD, DO, PhD, or PharmD required; MD or DO preferred.
• At least 5 years of combined clinical, research, or pharmaceutical experience.
• Strong familiarity with clinical trial design, oversight, assessment, GCP principles, medical product support, publications, investigator-sponsored studies, and medical education.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills in a complex matrix environment.
• Clinical experience managing patients with diabetes is strongly preferred.
• Subspecialty training in endocrinology and diabetes is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience as a clinical trial investigator or in pharmaceutical clinical development.
• Experience with endocrinology, diabetes, and renal therapeutic areas.
