Senior AI Research Engineer

Base pay: $160,000–$190,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and evaluate novel machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
• Develop AI models from training data and architecture design through evaluation and deployment.
• Prototype and validate complex solutions based on academic research with other research engineers.
• Run experiments to benchmark new techniques and analyze model behavior.
• Build scalable and reproducible tools and frameworks for research and development.
• Communicate research findings and help transition prototypes into production-ready systems.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, with a strong focus on AI and machine learning.
• Strong experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Deep understanding of transformer architectures, attention mechanisms, multimodal foundation models, diffusion policies, fine-tuning, model distillation, and mixture-of-experts models.
• Ability to define and debug AI model requirements related to data, training, and evaluation.
• Strong software development practices, including code quality and version control.
• Current knowledge of machine learning research, techniques, and methodologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with reinforcement learning, self-supervised training, or imitation learning.
• Experience developing VLA models for robotic manipulation and mobility.
• Experience developing production AI models.
• Publications at leading conferences.
