Senior AI Engineer, Post-Training (AI)

Salary: $242,250–$285,000 per year

What you will do

• Post-train open-weight language models on proprietary legal data through data preparation, objective design, base-model selection, training, evaluation, and iteration.
• Apply supervised fine-tuning, preference optimization, reinforcement learning, and related post-training techniques.
• Build training datasets and data pipelines with labeling guidance, model-generated data, and human feedback from domain experts.
• Operate reliable training infrastructure and diagnose and optimize distributed training runs.
• Build and operate production systems for model serving, agents, evaluation pipelines, tools, and supporting infrastructure.
• Partner with product engineers, agent engineers, lawyers, and other domain experts on model and system design.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with LLM post-training using PyTorch or equivalent frameworks.
• Understanding of model training, evaluation, inference, distributed training, and production AI infrastructure.
• Experience building agents, tools, services, and products around models that shipped to real users.
• Experience owning model development or post-training projects in applied AI, research, or adjacent engineering roles.
• Ability to make decisions about model selection, data, training objectives, evaluation, and agent or product architecture.
• Ability to work in San Francisco, CA, or New York City, NY.
