Cybersecurity Engineer (US Federal)

Location: Reston, Virginia, United States; may require onsite work at client locations in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. At least 50% of each quarter is spent in the office or in the field.

Annual base salary: $130,200–$195,400 USD for the primary location. Additional U.S. locations: $117,800–$210,000 USD.

What you will do

• Build cybersecurity capabilities for an air-gapped classified cloud environment supporting U.S. Government customers.
• Perform vulnerability management, incident response, threat hunting, and threat detection.
• Deploy, monitor, and manage systems in AWS or Microsoft Top Secret clouds.
• Manage vulnerability scans and prioritize remediation actions for system owners.
• Develop investigation and response tools and coordinate security activities across customer and Cyber Defense teams.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required for personnel working on applicable federal contracts.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance is required; TS/SCI with CI Poly is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in security consultancy, security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, threat detection, or threat hunting.
• 2+ years of hands-on technical leadership experience.
• Experience with AWS or Microsoft Top Secret clouds, vulnerability scanning, and platform, application, and cloud security.
• Knowledge of container security, adversary TTPs, SIEM, SOAR, network security threats, and hunting techniques.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance.
• DoD 8570/8140 compliance with at least IAT Level II certification, a current Computing Environment credential, and an approved specialty certification.
