TL;DR
Internship - Spring 2027 / Fall 2027 Packaging Solutions Co-op (Packaging Solutions): Developing and improving package designs and solutions across 3M’s business groups with an accent on package testing, supplier coordination, and packaging data analysis. Focus on implementing innovative packaging solutions, optimizing existing designs, and coordinating materials, costs, and testing requirements.

Location: On-site at the hirify.global Center in Maplewood, Minnesota, at least four days per week. Eligible interns may receive a housing and transportation stipend for relocation. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement innovative packaging solutions across all three hirify.global business groups.
  • Modify and improve existing package designs, methods, and solutions.
  • Perform and coordinate packaging tests according to established protocols.
  • Work with packaging material suppliers and contract packaging vendors on costs, samples, materials, and design requirements.
  • Create, maintain, obtain, and analyze packaging data to improve packaging implementation and optimization.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least four semesters, or sophomore year, completed by the start of the internship.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
  • Full-time availability for a 20–22 week assignment.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Package Engineering, Packaging Science, or Supply Chain.
  • Coursework in package materials and package design and development.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Previous packaging industry experience.
