Lead Business Intelligence Engineer

Location: Bellevue or Los Angeles, United States. Hybrid work with an expectation to work in an office 4+ days per week.

Base salary: $162,000–$284,000 annually, depending on the assigned U.S. pay zone. The role is also eligible for RSUs.

What you will do

• Lead complex business intelligence and analytics engineering initiatives from problem definition through delivery.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements, analytical approaches, and prioritized solutions.
• Design and architect scalable data pipelines, data models, and self-service analytics solutions using SQL, Python, BigQuery, Airflow, Visier, Looker, and Posit.
• Own data products end to end, including architecture, quality, monitoring, documentation, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
• Perform statistical analysis and communicate insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship while improving data quality, scalability, and operational resilience.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree in a technical or research-based social science field, or an equivalent advanced degree and experience.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence engineering, analytics engineering, data engineering, quantitative analysis, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience with SQL or similar query languages and development experience in Python or another object-oriented or scripting language.
• 3+ years of experience building dashboards, reports, and end-user analytics solutions with Looker, Tableau, Visier, Posit, or similar tools.
• Experience with data warehouses, dimensional and semantic modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, analytics layers, and self-service data products.
• Strong judgment and communication skills, with a commitment to data quality, privacy, security, governance, and responsible use of People data.

Nice to have

• MA/MS in a technical or research-based field.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, and Airflow.
• Experience with agile development, Git, and collaboration across technical and business teams.
• Experience working with workforce or Talent Acquisition data and People analytics platforms such as Visier.
