Operations Manager – Remote Operations and Feature Testing (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Primary workplace in Leonberg, Germany. Full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional travel within Germany and to European testing locations. Flexibility may be required during remote support periods, feature testing, incidents, or cross-country testing programmes.

What you will do

• Lead the operational delivery of internal remote operations and feature testing activities.
• Translate testing priorities and business requirements into tactical plans for the VSO team.
• Coordinate vehicles, staffing, shift coverage, resources, and testing activities across locations and countries.
• Work with Product, Engineering, Safety, Field Engineering, Fleet Servicing, Maintenance, Training, Quality Assurance, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor KPIs, identify operational blockers, improve utilisation, and support safe and consistent testing delivery.
• Line manage the Remote Operations and Feature Testing VSO team, supporting performance, development, engagement, and wellbeing.

Requirements

• Proven operational management experience in automotive testing, fleet operations, logistics, technology operations, or another fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong experience directly managing operational teams and handling performance management.
• Experience with resource planning, shift planning, operational KPIs, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, decision-making, and prioritisation skills.
• Experience working in a controlled or safety-sensitive environment with a strong safety mindset.
• Ability to work primarily from Leonberg, Germany, with occasional travel to German and European testing locations.

Nice to have

• Experience with ADAS, autonomous vehicle testing, automotive development, or remote operations.
• Knowledge of vehicle testing, data collection, feature testing, or safety driver operations.
• Experience working with VSOs, technicians, field engineers, or similar operational teams.
• German language skills or experience in German operational environments.
• Experience with Fleetio, Jira, Slack, planning systems, or KPI dashboards.
