Foundation Solution Architect (Apple Devices & macOS)

Location: London, United Kingdom. Primary UK business hours, with flexibility for architecture workshops, pilot events, readiness reviews, cutover planning, and critical migration windows across regions.

What you will do

• Design Apple and macOS tenant-to-tenant migration architecture for pilot, scale, and factory execution.
• Define migration patterns across Apple Business Manager, Automated Device Enrolment, IRU, Platform SSO, Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, compliance controls, and endpoint management tooling.
• Design approaches for user and device state, ADE assignment, re-enrolment, supervision, local accounts, authentication, Secure Token, Bootstrap Token, FileVault, certificates, and device trust.
• Identify migration risks involving configuration profiles, PPPC, System Extensions, Network Extensions, Login Items, security baselines, application controls, and software packaging.
• Produce HLDs, LLDs, integration designs, architecture decision records, runbooks, validation templates, readiness gates, rollback criteria, and known-issue patterns.
• Support pilots, rehearsals, cutover readiness reviews, and technical guidance for Scale and Factory teams while coordinating with architecture, identity, security, endpoint, application, and service transition teams.

Requirements

• Production experience designing Apple/macOS migration architecture for Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant or comparable enterprise tenant transition programmes.
• Deep practical knowledge of IRU or equivalent migration tooling, including discovery, execution, validation, reporting, and operational handoff.
• Strong Apple Business Manager, ADE, Platform SSO, Microsoft Entra integration, local account, authentication, and user experience knowledge.
• Strong understanding of Secure Token, Bootstrap Token, FileVault, recovery key escrow, certificates, SCEP/PKI, Conditional Access, compliance, and device trust.
• Experience designing repeatable migration patterns for executives, developers, remote workers, shared devices, and high-risk application users.
• Ability to create clear migration architecture artefacts and collaborate with architecture, security, identity, endpoint engineering, service transition, and delivery teams.

Nice to have

• Jamf enterprise migration or coexistence experience.
• Apple Silicon and Intel coexistence, Rosetta, application packaging, notarisation, and enterprise software deployment experience.
• Declarative Device Management and modern macOS management experience.
• Automation with Bash, Python, PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, or MDM APIs.
• Experience with large, multi-region enterprise migrations, strict governance, evidence capture, security controls, and cutover discipline.
