Senior Test Automation Engineer

What you will do

• Lead performance testing for complex cloud-based systems, focusing on scalability, resilience, and system behavior.
• Define performance-testing approaches for cloud-native components and architectures, including microservices, serverless applications, and containers.
• Test cloud elasticity, auto-scaling policies, failover, and self-healing mechanisms under peak load.
• Perform root-cause analysis using heap dumps, thread dumps, memory-leak investigation, and database query optimization.
• Establish Non-Functional Requirements, SLAs, SLOs, and Error Budgets with product managers.
• Translate business and technical requirements into testing plans, scenarios, metrics, and improvement recommendations.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience in software testing, test automation, performance testing, or performance engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience starting performance testing for components from scratch and analyzing performance across application, infrastructure, cloud, and network layers.
• Knowledge of network latency tuning, caching strategies, database connection pooling, capacity planning, and cost-versus-performance analysis.
• Programming or scripting skills, preferably with Python or Scala, plus hands-on experience with AWS or another major cloud platform.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical communication, client, and stakeholder management skills.
• Technical leadership and mentoring experience with junior or intermediate engineers; Upper-Intermediate or higher English.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS CloudWatch Logs Insights, AWS X-Ray, Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling, Aurora/DynamoDB Performance Insights, or AWS Compute Optimizer.
• Experience with Distributed Gatling Enterprise, k6 Cloud, Gremlin, or Chaos Mesh.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, Datadog APM, or Prometheus/Grafana.
• Relevant AWS, SRE, or advanced cloud performance certifications and courses.
