Senior Software Engineer, Affiliates, Full-Stack (Sydney)

What you will do

• Write, test, debug, and troubleshoot scalable, maintainable software.
• Design and implement backend and full-stack solutions using modern engineering practices.
• Lead technical discussions and independently deliver medium-sized projects or components.
• Analyze complex technical problems and drive improvements in team performance and delivery efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to communicate technical solutions.
• Share engineering knowledge and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, primarily focused on backend development.
• Experience with Node.js, microservices, Docker, cloud services, and CI/CD tools.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, GraphQL, WebSockets, Pub/Sub, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch.
• Strong understanding of code architecture, design principles, problem-solving, and technical communication.
• Ability to work as a full-stack engineer in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Svelte and SvelteKit or other server-side rendering frameworks such as React with Next.js, Vue with Nuxt, or Quasar.
• Proficiency in JavaScript fundamentals and Storybook.
