Senior Research Associate, Immunology (Biotechnology)

Location: On-site in Louisville, Colorado, United States; work takes place in a research laboratory and adjacent vivarium. Some off-hour, weekend, or holiday work may be required for animal welfare checks.

Annual base salary: $91,670–$100,837, depending on qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity award.

What you will do

• Design, conduct, optimize, and troubleshoot experiments supporting biologics discovery and development.
• Develop and characterize recombinant proteins produced from microbial hosts through molecular cloning, cell-line development, functional testing, and cell banking.
• Maintain mammalian and microbial cultures, assist with fermentation, and implement cell-based assays.
• Perform protein extraction, purification, and analytical testing using chromatography, HPLC, SDS-PAGE, and related methods.
• Analyze, document, and present experimental data, including reports, laboratory notebooks, and group-meeting presentations.
• Support laboratory operations, preclinical studies, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and vivarium activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with 5+ years of industry experience, or a master’s degree with 3+ years of industry experience.
• Required experience with microbial cell culture, transformation techniques, and molecular biology methods including PCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis, sequence analysis, and Western blotting.
• Ability to independently plan and perform experiments, troubleshoot problems, analyze data, and draw conclusions with minimal guidance.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, critical thinking, documentation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistical analysis software such as GraphPad.
• Must be able and willing to work on-site with small rodent research animals in a laboratory and vivarium environment, lift up to 20 pounds, and adjust schedules for animal welfare coverage.

• Experience with fermentation.
