Quantity Surveyor (Social Housing)

Location: Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom, with occasional trips to site as required. A full UK driving licence is required.

What you will do

• Support the Commercial Manager and project teams in delivering refurbishment projects on time, within budget, and to required standards.
• Manage project commercial performance, cost control, forecasting, and profitability.
• Prepare monthly applications for payment and convert work in progress into invoices.
• Own commercial reporting, including Cost Value Reconciliations and monthly commercial reports.
• Ensure compliance with JCT, NEC, client specifications, and other contract requirements.
• Attend client meetings and manage supply chain relationships, pricing, project feasibility, and issue resolution.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of commercial experience with a main contractor or subcontractor, ideally in social housing or a similar sector.
• Understanding of measurement and valuation, including Schedules of Rates.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage costs and maximise value.
• Good communication, organisation, attention to detail, and stakeholder management skills.
• Good IT skills, including Excel and internal cost systems.
• Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field, plus a full UK driving licence.
