Middle / Senior ML Engineer / Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria; relocation support is available.

Salary: from €3,000 net per month plus an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Develop and deploy ML models and LLM-based agents for banking business use cases.
• Own models end to end, including problem framing, training, validation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Build and improve production solutions such as AI assistants, real-time product ranking, loan pricing, and AI-powered search.
• Contribute to the design and optional development of in-house ML and AI platforms for the data science team.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on machine-learning experience.
• Strong foundations in mathematics, statistics, ML algorithms, metrics, and loss functions.
• Advanced Python skills and experience with NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, CatBoost, and seaborn.
• Strong SQL and Spark skills, including complex joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, scalable Python code.
• Upper-Intermediate English or above in verbal and written communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure Databricks, MLflow, and Airflow.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other deep-learning frameworks.
• Experience with LLM fine-tuning or parameter-efficient tuning such as LoRA or PEFT.
• Interest in LLM agent frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph.
