Associate Publisher / Publisher (Scientific Publishing)

Location: London or Milan, with a hybrid working model

Salary for Milan positions: €32,500 minimum for Associate Publisher; €41,500 minimum for Publisher

What you will do

• Manage relationships with Editors-in-Chief, societies, editorial board members, and other publishing stakeholders.
• Develop and refresh editorial boards, support recruitment, and organize editorial board meetings.
• Create and execute strategic development plans for oncology journal portfolios.
• Monitor peer-review data, optimize manuscript flow, and resolve delays with editorial offices and editors.
• Support journal indexing, open-access development, ethical compliance, and accurate journal administration.
• Represent hirify.global at scientific conferences and external events when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational background.
• Interest in and understanding of the publishing business.
• Excellent communication, influencing, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail, ownership, deadline management, and adaptability.
• High computer literacy and ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
• Ability to work from the London or Milan office under the hybrid working model.

Nice to have

• Interest in oncology and related disciplines.
• Previous experience in journal or book publishing.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and represent hirify.global at external events.
