Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Remote-first with occasional collaborative sessions at the Portsmouth office, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Develop predictive, ranking, scoring, recommendation, propensity, and time-series models from large-scale visitor activity and event-stream data.
• Transform noisy behavioural data into commercially valuable insights, including trends, anomalies, seasonality, and buying-intent signals.
• Design reusable data products and collaborate with Software Engineering to productionise models through APIs, services, event streams, and platform integrations.
• Create data contracts and interfaces for machine-learning outputs and ensure models are observable, reproducible, monitorable, and maintainable.
• Investigate agentic workflows, large language models, and structured behavioural signals, supported by robust evaluation frameworks and guardrails.
• Shape data-science and machine-learning practices across Product and Engineering while owning projects from experimentation through production.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Applied AI, or a similar discipline.
• Strong academic background in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience deploying production machine-learning solutions and working with large-scale, event-driven datasets.
• Excellent Python skills, advanced SQL, and strong knowledge of statistics, supervised, unsupervised, and probabilistic modelling.
• Experience creating data products, scalable machine-learning infrastructure, MLOps workflows, model monitoring, experimentation, hypothesis testing, and causal inference.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and collaborate across Product, Engineering, and Data teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in SaaS, AdTech, MarTech, Sales Intelligence, Consumer Analytics, or another data-intensive field.
• Experience with agentic AI workflows, large language models, or structured behavioural signals.
