Commercial Manager (Data Centres)

What you will do

• Lead and develop commercial teams for assigned hyperscale data centre projects.
• Develop commercial, procurement, and contracting strategies, including cost modelling and forecasting.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors, consultants, and vendors.
• Oversee variations, claims, disputes, contractual compliance, budgets, cash flow, and financial reporting.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks while ensuring legal and governance compliance.
• Provide strategic commercial advice and build relationships with project stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of commercial management experience in construction or infrastructure.
• Extensive experience in construction projects, ideally in data centres or other mission-critical environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian construction regulations, procurement frameworks, and approval processes.
• Advanced contract administration and financial management expertise.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency with Aconex, Procore, and Microsoft applications, alongside strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Professional certification such as MRICS, PMP, or AIQS.
• Experience with principal contractors or in client-side commercial leadership roles.
• The position may be considered at Senior Commercial Manager level depending on experience and capabilities.
