Member of Technical Staff- Lead SSD Firmware Engineer (SSD Firmware)

Develops data storage platforms and DirectFlash SSD modules for enterprise and hyperscale customers.

What you will do

• Define firmware architecture, subsystem design, modularization, and system integration for next-generation DirectFlash SSD modules.
• Bring up new SSD controller SoCs with hardware teams and controller vendors.
• Enable PCIe, NAND interfaces, power-loss protection, telemetry, NVMe, and OCP SSD features.
• Debug cross-layer issues involving firmware, controller hardware, NAND media, and host systems.
• Improve SSD data-path performance and latency through firmware design and analysis.
• Review designs, mentor engineers, and improve development tools, testing, and automation.

Requirements

• Extensive SSD firmware development experience for enterprise or hyperscale systems.
• Strong knowledge of SSD architecture, controller design, NVMe, and OCP SSD specifications.
• Strong embedded firmware development and hardware/software interaction experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++, with Python or other scripting experience for testing and automation.
• Hands-on experience with storage controller SoCs, PCIe, DMA engines, NAND interfaces, and hardware bring-up.
• Experience designing firmware architectures and debugging complex firmware and hardware issues.
