Senior Trader, Brokerage

Location: Chicago, IL, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $160,100–$272,300 USD base pay annually.

What you will do

• Execute institutional equity orders, including single-stock, portfolio, block, and index-related transactions.
• Select execution approaches, brokers, algorithms, and venues based on market conditions, liquidity, and risk.
• Monitor execution quality, trading outcomes, exceptions, operational issues, and adherence to trading controls.
• Use pre-trade and post-trade transaction cost analysis to evaluate strategies, brokers, venues, and performance.
• Maintain execution documentation for audit, compliance, and regulatory reviews.
• Advise institutional clients, brokers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders on equity execution and market structure.

Requirements

• 7+ years of institutional equity trading experience with large and complex orders.
• Strong knowledge of equity market structure, liquidity dynamics, execution venues, algorithmic trading, and best execution requirements.
• Demonstrated judgment in fast-moving and volatile markets, with strong risk management and operational discipline.
• Experience interpreting transaction cost analysis, execution metrics, and performance data.
• College degree or equivalent experience.
• FINRA Series 7, 57, and 63 licenses are required.

Nice to have

• Established institutional client and broker relationships.
• CFA, MBA, or similar advanced credentials.
• Experience using data and analytics to support trading decisions.
