Senior Fullstack Engineer (Java)

Location: Fully remote, EU-based; eligible locations include Belgium, Poland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, and France. A Belgian office is available.

Compensation: €85,000–€120,000/year plus equity.

What you will do

• Design and build robust Java backend services and APIs for a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
• Ship product features end-to-end while collaborating directly with product managers and customers.
• Improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of services running on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, infrastructure automation, and observability.
• Improve development systems for AI coding agents, including CI feedback, development environments, and delivery guardrails.
• Drive architectural decisions across service design and platform evolution.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and owning production backend software at a product company.
• Strong Java skills, including API development, asynchronous processing, concurrency, and performance tuning.
• Solid backend SQL experience with schema design, query optimization, and production migrations; experience with MySQL and ClickHouse.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and AWS, including EKS, IAM, networking, RDS, and S3.
• Experience with CI/CD, GitOps, infrastructure as code, scripting, observability, testing, and tools such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD or Flux, Terraform or Pulumi, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Fluent English and the ability to work independently in a distributed team across 12+ countries.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS at scale or a high-growth startup.
• Python experience.
• Experience with regulated environments such as ISO27001 or SOC2.
• Experience building LLM-powered features, tool-using agents, or AI-driven automation.
• Experience in data quality, data management, data observability, or ML monitoring.
