Associate Scientist, Informatics II (AI)

Salary: $58,656–$110,500 base pay annually

What you will do

• Develop, validate, and deploy automated image analysis workflows for histopathology and spatial biology using platforms such as Visiopharm and QuPath.
• Design machine learning and deep learning methods for cell segmentation, phenotyping, biomarker quantification, and spatial analysis.
• Perform image registration, de-arraying, and alignment for multimodal imaging datasets, including histology, multiplex immunofluorescence, and spatial transcriptomics.
• Build Python scripts, automated pipelines, scalable compute workflows, and integrated database systems for high-throughput image processing.
• Troubleshoot software issues and collaborate with pathologists, biologists, bioinformaticians, computational scientists, and third-party software engineers.
• Present analytical results, document workflows and algorithms, and contribute to publications and scientific innovation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Biology, or a related field with typically 3 or more years of experience, or a relevant master’s degree.
• Experience with digital pathology and image analysis platforms such as Visiopharm, HALO, QuPath, or ImageJ.
• Strong proficiency in Python and scientific computing libraries including NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, or scikit-learn.
• Working knowledge of AWS, scalable computational workflows, and database infrastructure.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools such as GraphPad Prism, Spotfire, or Excel.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Knowledge of molecular pathology techniques, including immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, or in situ hybridization.
• Experience with spatial transcriptomics and multiplexed immunofluorescence images.
• Background in biology or immunology supporting translational research.
