Superintendent - Highway/Grading

What you will do

• Supervise skilled trades crews and manage onsite activities for large highway, roadway, and bridge projects.
• Lead Foremen in delivering work safely, productively, and to quality standards.
• Coordinate with the Operations Manager, Project Manager, and Project Engineers on project direction and execution.
• Create 90-day and three-week crew schedules and assist with project scheduling.
• Coordinate manpower, heavy equipment, tooling, materials, and subcontractors.
• Monitor work-item costs and support project profitability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical experience progressing from Journeyman to Foreman to Superintendent.
• At least six years of similar construction field management experience.
• Understanding of safety laws, company policies, construction practices, and industry standards.
• Ability to manage teams across varied self-performing trade disciplines.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prepare schedules in Microsoft Excel and use Microsoft Word for pre-planning.

Nice to have

• Roadway or highway construction experience.
