Principal Scientist Lead (Targeted Protein Degradation Biochemistry)

What you will do

• Lead protein expression, purification, and characterization strategies for challenging proteins.
• Develop and implement biochemical and biophysical assays for hit identification, validation, optimization, and mechanism-of-action studies.
• Support induced proximity and targeted protein degradation drug discovery programs.
• Partner with cross-functional discovery teams across a portfolio of small-molecule therapeutics.
• Lead and mentor a small team of scientists and provide scientific direction.
• Contribute to scientific strategy and communicate findings to project teams and leadership.

Requirements

• PhD in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Structural Biology, Protein Engineering, or a related field plus 2 years of relevant industry experience; or a master’s degree plus 5 years; or a bachelor’s degree plus 7 years.
• Expertise in protein purification, protein expression, and biochemical assay development for challenging targets.
• Experience with mammalian, insect, and microbial protein expression systems.
• Background in biochemical and biophysical approaches for target engagement, protein-protein interactions, and small-molecule mechanism-of-action studies.
• Experience with protein engineering, construct design, mutagenesis, and expression optimization.
• Hands-on experience with TR-FRET/HTRF, fluorescence polarization, AlphaLISA, and BLI/SPR-based assays.

• Familiarity with targeted protein degradation and induced proximity modalities.
• Experience collaborating across cross-functional discovery teams and managing priorities across multiple programs.
