Actuarial Analyst (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid role based in Reigate, United Kingdom, with 2–3 days per week onsite at the Reigate office.

Salary: £38,000–£47,500 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Perform reserving analyses for Motor and Home insurance on a best-estimate basis.
• Contribute to internal and external reporting of insurance provisions under IFRS 17 and Solvency II.
• Process, maintain and analyse claims and policy data while supporting data quality and governance.
• Develop, maintain and validate actuarial models, assumptions and data requirements.
• Produce actuarial insights for business decisions using market and industry research.
• Improve reserving, reporting, actuarial systems and methodologies while collaborating with Underwriting, Risk, Claims and Finance.

Requirements

• Degree in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Engineering or Physics.
• Strong academic record with excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in pursuing a professional actuarial qualification through the IFoA or an equivalent body.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical information clearly.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel and interest in developing technical data skills.
• Willingness to work collaboratively in person at the Reigate office 2–3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Completion of one or more IFoA exams.
• Internship, placement or project experience in actuarial, insurance, finance, analytics or data-related roles.
• Experience with Python, R, SAS, SQL or Power BI.
• Exposure to statistical modelling, data visualisation or predictive analytics.
• Knowledge of insurance or financial services.
