Fixed Asset Accountant (Aerospace): Maintaining and controlling fixed asset records, capital projects, depreciation, reconciliations, and reporting across multiple U.S. facilities with an accent on U.S. GAAP, audit readiness, and asset lifecycle accuracy. Focus on coordinating physical inventories, resolving subledger discrepancies, and building scalable asset-tracking processes across Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Manufacturing.
Location: Onsite four to five days per week at the Long Beach, California, or Colorado facility, with support for locations in Colorado, California, and the Washington, DC area. Periodic travel to facilities may be required.
Base salary: $80,000–$120,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do
- Maintain complete fixed asset records for property, buildings, machinery, equipment, vehicles, technology, and other capital assets across multiple locations.
- Record and reconcile additions, transfers, disposals, retirements, impairments, write-offs, depreciation, and amortization.
- Review capital expenditures, construction-in-progress, leasehold improvements, and capital projects for correct capitalization and timely asset classification.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reports, schedules, roll-forwards, and management analysis.
- Coordinate physical inventories, asset audits, verification activities, and documentation across facilities.
- Partner with Finance, Facilities, Procurement, IT, Engineering, Manufacturing, Real Estate, and other departments to improve controls and asset-tracking processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least three years of progressive accounting experience, including direct fixed asset accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting, capitalization, depreciation, disposals, impairments, reconciliations, and U.S. GAAP.
- Experience with physical inventories, fixed asset audits, asset verification, and ERP or accounting systems with fixed asset functionality.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, conditional formulas, and data analysis.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite four to five days per week and travel periodically to company facilities. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or eligibility to obtain required ITAR authorizations is required.
Nice to have
- NetSuite experience and experience managing assets across multiple states, facilities, or business units.
- Experience with construction-in-progress accounting, leasehold improvements, capital project accounting, or asset-intensive organizations.
- Experience with asset tagging, barcode or RFID systems, physical inventory software, SOX processes, or state and local property tax reporting.
- Experience with government-furnished or customer-owned property and FAR or DFARS requirements.
- Experience improving accounting processes, implementing ERP systems, or developing fixed asset reporting tools.
