Industry Solution Leader - Oil, Gas & Chemical (Refining / Chemical Asset Performance)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; travel to customer locations is required as needed.

Salary: $130,000–$203,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Own solution strategy, technical direction, delivery outcomes, and customer value from problem definition through production deployment and scale.
• Lead customer-facing discovery across refinery and chemical operations, equipment, processes, constraints, and business objectives.
• Identify opportunities in equipment reliability, maintenance, production performance, process optimization, throughput, yield, quality, energy efficiency, and operating economics.
• Translate engineering and operational challenges into AI, machine learning, optimization, and software solutions with defined requirements and success criteria.
• Lead cross-functional Forward Deployed Engineers, data scientists, product managers, engineers, and industry experts.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to create reusable capabilities, methodologies, and scalable industry solutions.

Requirements

• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, reliability, maintenance, industrial technology, or technically focused consulting.
• Hands-on experience inside a refinery, chemical plant, or similar continuous-process facility, including equipment such as distillation units, reactors, furnaces, compressors, heat exchangers, or utilities.
• Experience with industrial processes, process controls, maintenance practices, operational workflows, and industrial data.
• Experience with systems such as process historians, SCADA, DCS, MES, EAM/CMMS, ERP, advanced process control, or industrial analytics platforms.
• Ability to lead complex customer-facing technical engagements and collaborate with engineering, operations, executive stakeholders, software engineers, data scientists, and product managers.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, optimization, predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, or industrial digital transformation solutions.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, analytics tools, application configuration, or scripting.
• Experience scaling technical solutions across multiple assets, plants, facilities, or business units.
• Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
