What you will do
- Lead and execute scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance projects.
- Perform complex diagnostics, repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting on aircraft airframes and engines.
- Mentor and guide junior mechanics.
- Document maintenance activities and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Collaborate across departments to maintain efficient workflow.
- Promote safety protocols and travel frequently to customer locations, sometimes on short notice.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of relevant experience; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Active, current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations.
- Advanced ability to repair, maintain, and troubleshoot aircraft airframes and engines, and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications.
- Own tools in good working order, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass and maintain Class 3 physical requirements, including a hearing test.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights and in confined spaces, operate in noisy or hazardous environments, and work different shifts, overtime, weekends, and frequent travel assignments.
Nice to have
- Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance or a related field.
- Experience with specific aircraft models, FAA repair stations, or quality assurance.
- Familiarity with FAR/DFARS and experience in aerospace, defense, the U.S. Department of Defense, or the U.S. military.
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
