Senior Quality Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within Mexico; Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Mexico City, or Monterrey

Salary: MX$85,000–MX$95,000 per month plus equity

What you will do

• Architect test plans and break down ambiguous product requirements into concrete test cases.
• Own quality engineering work from product design through production release.
• Build, maintain, and scale end-to-end automation frameworks and test coverage.
• Use AI tools such as Claude Code, Augment, or equivalent to create tests, test data, and implementation plans, while critically reviewing generated output.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to identify specification gaps, edge cases, and release risks.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor teammates, and help define AI-first quality engineering practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional QA automation engineering experience.
• Experience leading automation initiatives and building frameworks from scratch in technology or SaaS environments.
• Advanced experience with Playwright or similar tools such as Cypress or Selenium.
• Strong JavaScript skills, plus experience with BDD/Gherkin, API testing, end-to-end testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with AI-assisted development or testing tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Augment.
• Must be based in Mexico and able to collaborate effectively across QA, Engineering, Product, and Design.

Nice to have

• Performance or load testing experience.
• Experience with complex or high-scale products.
• Experience in travel, hospitality, or the experiences industry.
• iOS testing, including XCUITest or XCTest in Xcode with Swift.
