QA Automation Engineer (Playwright)

What you will do

• Build a UI E2E test automation framework from scratch using Gherkin scenarios from project tickets.
• Automate business scenarios covering clients, users, contracts, and access rights rather than isolated technical features.
• Define the testing strategy, including automation levels and regression priorities based on business risk.
• Set up daily full regression runs in CI with parallel execution, scheduling, reporting, and failure notifications.
• Analyze failed runs, report defects, and maintain a large regression suite by managing flaky tests, execution time, and test data.
• Work independently as the project’s sole QA automation engineer and align decisions with the architect.

Requirements

• TypeScript or JavaScript experience.
• Experience with UI E2E test automation and Playwright.
• Experience building a test automation framework from scratch.
• Experience with BDD and Gherkin.
• Experience setting up regression in CI from scratch, including parallel runs, scheduling, reporting, and failure notifications.
• Experience maintaining a large regression suite, including flaky-test handling, execution-time control, and test-data strategy.
• Active daily use of AI tools while retaining the ability to write and debug tests without AI, review generated output, and take full ownership of test coverage and quality.
• Independence and ability to make QA automation decisions without another QA automation engineer on the project, aligning with the architect.
• English at B2 level or higher.
