Senior Accountant (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Hybrid role for candidates located near Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA; some work must be performed onsite.

Base salary: $80,000–$145,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Prepare financial statements and manage overhead, fringe benefit, prepaid expense, and fixed asset accounting.
• Improve close procedures and implement scalable accounting policies, internal controls, and system integrations in NetSuite.
• Support accounting for Cost Accounting Standards-covered contracts and assist with the annual audit.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments and provide guidance on financial matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Analytical problem-solving skills, strong ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Prior NetSuite experience is preferred.
• Must be located near Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA and able to perform some work onsite.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Government contract accounting, FAR accounting standards, and DCAA compliance experience.
