Experienced Microbiologist (Pharmaceutical Microbiology)

Location: Bend, Oregon, United States; fully site-based. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families.

What you will do

• Design, validate, and transfer microbiological testing methods in accordance with regulatory and quality standards.
• Support testing and release activities for raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
• Lead environmental monitoring and analyze data to reduce contamination risks.
• Maintain, qualify, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Author, review, and approve protocols, procedures, reports, and other technical documents.
• Support audit readiness, represent microbiology during inspections and client visits, mentor colleagues, and drive laboratory improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated laboratory environment.
• Knowledge of bioburden, sterility, and endotoxin testing.
• Experience with environmental monitoring in cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments.
• Understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), quality requirements, and validation or qualification activities.
• Availability for a 4x10-hour shift schedule that includes one weekend day and work at the Bend site.
