Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Ontario, Canada. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada by the selected start date; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: 105,800–132,300 CAD per year, with possible additional stock options, bonuses, and merit increases.

What you will do

• Contribute across implementation, delivery, maintenance, testing, and debugging throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Write clean, efficient production code for services that power hirify.global.
• Develop new product features in collaboration with engineers, Product Managers, and Designers.
• Work independently in the codebase, identify refactoring opportunities, and contribute to project completion.
• Review peer code and provide constructive feedback while supporting code quality.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience contributing production code and driving projects to completion.
• Experience with Ruby, C#, Java, or Python; Ruby is preferred.
• Direct experience with AI and agentic software development tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript fundamentals, including React, and experience working across the full stack.
• Understanding of architectural patterns and REST/web development.
• Experience partnering closely with Product and Design teams.

• Experience with Rails.
• Experience with authorization and permissions.
