Junior Appian Integration Developer (Remote Opportunity)

Location: Remote within the continental United States; listed locations include Tampa, FL and Philadelphia, PA. U.S. citizenship is required.

What you will do

• Design and develop integrations between Appian case management and Business Process Management platforms and Department of Veterans Affairs source systems.
• Build secure connections using REST, SOAP, JDBC, SMTP, CMIS, JMS, web APIs, and related integration technologies.
• Integrate Appian with microservices, databases, legacy systems, and inbound and outbound file-transfer processes.
• Develop and maintain Appian plug-ins, middleware components, web services, and integrations in AWS GovCloud.
• Manage integration architecture, technical specifications, interface requirements, and service lifecycle documentation.
• Collaborate with technical leads, developers, architects, QA, and DevSecOps teams in an Agile delivery environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, plus at least two years of relevant IT experience.
• At least three years of experience with Appian delivery or plug-in development, Business Process Management, enterprise application integration, or service-oriented architecture.
• At least three years of experience designing and implementing REST and SOAP web services, APIs, middleware, microservice integrations, and external system connections.
• At least three years of experience with Java, J2EE, JavaScript, XML, XSLT, HTML, CSS, SQL, and application servers such as JBoss, WebLogic, IIS, or Tomcat.
• Experience with AWS services including Lambda, Step Functions, Secrets Manager, S3, CloudWatch, EC2, and ECS, along with GitHub or a comparable source-control platform.
• Must reside within the continental United States, be a U.S. citizen, complete a background check, and be able to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance when required.

Nice to have

• Active Appian Senior Developer or Lead Developer certification.
• Recent integration or software development experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or another federal government agency.
• More than three years of Agile delivery experience, including Java, AWS GovCloud, legacy-system integration, and secure file-transfer work.
