Senior GL Accountant (US GAAP)

Location: Hybrid in Mindelo, Porto, Portugal

What you will do

• Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements for North American finance entities under US GAAP and company policies.
• Manage journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, close activities, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare 10-K reporting, corporate tax questionnaires, SAB 104 analyses, and support for multi-element agreements.
• Perform balance sheet and P&L variance analyses, identify reporting risks, and explain key financial drivers.
• Support SOX compliance, internal and external audits, issue escalation, and financial reporting activities.
• Improve accounting procedures and documentation to support business continuity and process efficiency.

Requirements

• Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multinational company or shared service center.
• Strong technical accounting background and advanced analytical skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience with SAP or another ERP system and advanced Excel skills.
• Organized, motivated, and professional approach to work.
