Accounts Receivable Accountant

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid working model combining onsite and offsite work.

What you will do

• Allocate incoming payments to invoices manually or through electronic tools.
• Create and modify customer master data and register customer contracts in SAP.
• Issue and distribute commercial invoices, credit notes, and advance payment invoices in line with legal, accounting, and tax rules.
• Prepare customer account statements, reconciliation letters, ageing reports, and debt-related reports.
• Analyze bad debt, post provisions and write-offs, and support customer dunning processes and debt committees.
• Prepare balance sheet analyses, KPIs, audit support, and internal control documentation while identifying process improvements.

Requirements

• Junior profile, including recent graduates, with a finance, accounting, business administration, or economics degree, or experience in administrative accounting tasks.
• Knowledge of accounting transactions, closing processes, IFRS, and internal financial control standards.
• Experience or familiarity with accounting systems; SAP knowledge is preferred.
• Understanding of customer receivables processes and the ability to interact with customers from the US and Europe.
• Knowledge of Lean principles and the ability to implement continuous improvement actions.
• Advanced English required.
